Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

The Journal of Teaching and General Education Studies follows a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of the published research.

  1. Initial Screening
All submitted manuscripts are first reviewed by the editorial team to ensure compliance with the journal's aims, scope, and formatting requirements. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected without external review.

  2. Assignment to Reviewers
Manuscripts passing the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. Both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process to ensure impartiality.

  3. Review Criteria
    Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:

    • Relevance to the field of teaching and general education

    • Originality and significance of the research

    • Theoretical and methodological rigor

    • Clarity and coherence of the presentation

    • Contribution to scholarly knowledge and practice

  4. Review Outcomes
Reviewers provide detailed feedback and recommend one of the following decisions:

    • Accept

    • Minor Revision

    • Major Revision

    • Reject

  5. Editorial Decision
Based on reviewers’ comments and recommendations, the editorial board makes the final decision. Authors are informed of the outcome along with the reviewers' anonymized feedback.

  6. Revision and Resubmission
If revisions are required, authors must address all reviewer comments and submit a revised manuscript along with a response letter detailing how each comment has been addressed.

  7. Final Review and Publication
Revised manuscripts may be sent for a second round of peer review. Once accepted, manuscripts undergo copyediting and formatting before publication.

The average review process takes approximately 4–8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the complexity of the manuscript.
