PENDAMPINGAN GERAKAN LITERASI BUDAYA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN LITERASI BUDAYA DAN KREATIVITAS DIGITAL SISWA MADRASAH ALIYAH

Abstract

This community service program aimed to assist a madrasah in initiating a Cultural Literacy Movement to enhance students’ cultural literacy and digital creativity. The program was conducted in September 2025 at Madrasah Aliyah Raudlatut Thalibin NW Surabaya, East Lombok, in collaboration with the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Nahdlatul Wathan Mataram. The implementation methods included workshops on cultural and digital literacy, teacher mentoring, and project-based cultural literacy activities. Students were actively involved in field research through observations and interviews with local cultural practitioners to explore the values and meanings of Sasak culture, which were then transformed into digital content such as posters, infographics, and animated videos published on social media platforms. The results indicate an improvement in students’ understanding and appreciation of local Sasak culture, as well as the development of their digital literacy and creativity in producing educational and creative cultural content. The program also contributed to strengthening students’ critical thinking, collaboration, and active participation through project-based learning. Responses from students and teachers show that the Cultural Literacy Movement mentoring provided a more contextual, participatory, and low-pressure learning experience. This program offers a project-based cultural literacy mentoring model that has the potential to be replicated in other madrasahs with similar characteristics.
